CONCEPT

<SCRIPT> is a multi-platform public art event conceived by artist Brittney Connelly. This project works to question the digital landscapes that charge, change and exist in tandem to our everyday lives. Facilitated through an ongoing conversation series, an art publication and a group art exhibition taking place at the artist-run gallery Carnation Contemporary.

GOALS

  •  Add to the broader discourse of artists influenced by digital art processes

  •  Create an art publication that will highlight contemporary visual artists that either mine, consider, or catalog our digital experience

  • Develop a casual atmosphere of conversation, allowing an exchange of ideas to ferment. Support critical art discourse in a natural setting.

  • Provide an exhibition opportunity for talented female visual artists

  • Give agency and authority to the female perspective on an artist’s labor practices & digital art making.

DISCUSSION SERIES

Participating artists will engage in discussions that operate to open up subjects like human interconnectedness, language, and transgressions of the female form through the lens of our digital landscape. All conversations will be published to the web as they are recorded resulting in a podcast and the culmination of discussions will be transcribed and be published as a small run art publication designed by Russell Borne.

EXHIBITON

Participating artists will be featured in a month-long exhibition July '19, in Portland, OR
